Job summary

The Department of Public Safety is seeking a DPS Traffic Operations Specialist to monitor and coordinate traffic operations in partnership with state agencies and law enforcement. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Department of Public Safety.

Three years of law enforcement experience as a POST-certified peace officer or dispatcher and a valid Arizona driver's license are required. Pre-employment polygraph and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Three years of law enforcement experience as an Arizona POST-certified peace officer or a police communications dispatcher.
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
• Pre-employment polygraph and background investigation are required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate traffic operations in a structured environment.
• Collaborate with State Troopers, ADOT personnel, and other highway safety entities to manage traffic conditions.
• Assist with managing traffic incidents.
