Job summary

City of Minot is seeking a Traffic Maintenance Worker in the Traffic Engineering Department of Public Works. This full-time, non-exempt role offers overtime eligibility and a pay range of $20.96–$31.11 per hour, with annualized figures provided.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and a valid North Dakota driver’s license. Certification in Work Zone Traffic Control Safety is required within two years.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with 1 year of related experience.
• Possession of a valid North Dakota driver's license.
• IMSA Work Zone Traffic Control Safety certification within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain traffic signs, signals, streetlights and pavement markings.
• Work under supervision of Traffic Engineer or Foreman; may guide seasonal staff.

The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of Traffic Maintenance Workerin the Traffic Engineering Department of Public Works. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants with an application deadline of Monday, September 14 th 2026.

Nature of Work

This entry-level maintenance position performs a variety of traffic related support tasks. Tasks are related to street signs, traffic signals, streetlights and pavement markings. Work is performed under the continuing supervision of the Traffic Engineer or Traffic Foreman. May give guidance and training to seasonal employees and less-experienced maintenance workers.Please see the attached job description for complete details

Education, Experience, Other Requirements

• Graduation from high school and one year of experience in construction or equipment operation activities; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of a valid North Dakota driver's license.
• Certification by International Municipal Signal Association for Work Zone Traffic Control Safety within two (2) years of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

• The assigned salary range for the position of Traffic Maintenance Workerunder the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan isaGrade 50, which is an earning potential of $20.96- $31.11 per hour ($43,593-$64,713 annually)
• This is a full time, FLSANon-Exempt position eligible for overtime.
