Job summary

Morgan Truck Body, a longstanding North American truck body producer, is seeking a Traffic Lead for the 1st shift. The role emphasizes safety, productivity, and team leadership in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating resources, ensuring on-time deliveries, and maintaining inventory control. The position requires basic supervisory experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with JDE-Oracle.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required or preferred.
  • Knowledge of JDE-Oracle operating system is a plus.

  • Drive assorted vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Keep chassis prep full and park released units.
  • Assist with installing mud flaps, window stickers, and other small parts as needed.
  • Recordkeeping: chassis check-in sheets, sign-for-vehicles, and related documentation.
  • Prioritize workload after training to meet plant goals and requests.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to meet delivery goals and maintain safety.

Traffic Lead – 1st Shift
The Nuts and Bolts:
  • Driving assorted vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Keep chassis prep full and park released units
  • Doing any number of tasks that are required of the crew including installing mud flaps, installing window stickers, making key tags, signing for vehicles, filling out chassis check in sheets and measuring front of body and wheelbase and keeping busy with pertinent work.
  • After training be fable to prioritize work load and requests.
Specific Job Functions:
PRODUCTIVITY

Effective use and coordination of resources to accomplish specific goals and outputs while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Control and reduce truck hours.
  • Effective and efficient utilization of people and other resources (overtime, equipment, material, etc.)
  • Efficiently and effectively plan and execute daily work.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments of the plant.
  • Achieve truck delivery goals; daily delivery, monthly delivery, and on time delivery.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure appropriate availability and work in process levels.
SAFETY

Lead by personal example to create and maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Enforces or follows safe work practices.

  • Achieve zero lost time injuries and reduce OSHA recordable injuries.
  • Assure compliance to safety policies and safe work practices. Maintain consistent daily housekeeping of all areas of responsibility.
  • Utilize established programs and personal (safety meetings, etc.) to improve safety performance.
  • Display personal safety attitude and safety leadership / sponsorship.
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT / TEAM LEADERSHIP

Provide associates with objectives and standards specifying results to be achieved. Provide tools, training, and support as needed. Provide a motivate climate supportive of each team member becoming fully competent.

  • Display and promote teamwork and effective communication within Production and the company as a whole.
  • Deal quickly and effectively with associate issues / concerns.
  • Adhere to all legal and company policies and procedures.
  • Take an active interest in the training of all new and existing associates assigned within your area of responsibility
  • Maintain continual effective communication with associates assigned to area of responsibility.
  • Perform performance coaching and counseling as required to ensure associates perform to desired expectations.
Required Credentials:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Working knowledge of JDE-Oracle operating system is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to rotate shifts if needed
