Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Traffic Engineer to lead signal and electrical design efforts that improve road safety and efficiency. You will perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using industry tools and contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects.

The role requires a BSCE and a valid PE license, with 6 to 20+ years of traffic engineering experience and strong communication skills. You will work with state and municipal clients and help write proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) is required and a valid PE license.
  • 6 to 20+ years of experience in traffic engineering with a strong background in signal design.
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis and producing deliverables to client standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of traffic signal and electrical designs to enhance road safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic.
  • Perform crash analyses and Highway Safety Manual analyses to improve safety.
  • Develop conceptual construction staging and traffic control plans to keep projects moving.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design Excellence: Lead the development of traffic signal and electrical designs that enhance road safety and efficiency.
  • Cutting-Edge Analysis: Conduct intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software.
  • Safety First: Perform crash and Highway Safety Manual analyses to promote safer travel.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop conceptual construction staging alternatives and traffic control plans that keep projects moving smoothly.
  • Client Collaboration: Provide staffing augmentation services and support to State and Municipal clients, ensuring project goals are met.
  • Business Development: Assist in writing proposals and contribute to our growth by bringing new opportunities and innovative ideas to the table.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and a valid PE license.
  • Experience: Between 6 to 20+ years of experience in traffic engineering, with a strong background in signal design.
