Job summary

Executive Staff Recruiters / ESR Healthcare is assisting a public works team in Mobile, AL to hire a Traffic Engineer focused on safety and planning. This role offers growth toward project management under the Assistant Director.

Requires a Civil Engineering degree, knowledge of MUTCD and related manuals, Excel literacy, and a valid driver's license. PE preference is noted; prior PE status is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of the Access Management Manual, MUTCD, Highway Safety Manual, and Trip Generation Manual.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with MicroStation, ArcGIS, Synchro, and/or VISTRO is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Preference is given to candidates who have passed their Professional Engineer (P.E.) Exam.

Responsibilities

• Support traffic engineering and transportation safety projects under guidance.
• Assist the Assistant Director in managing a variety of transportation safety and planning projects.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of safer, more efficient roadways.

In this role, you will be working with the Assistant Director to manage a variety of transportation safety and transportation planning projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of the Access Management Manual, MUTCD, and the Highway Safety Manual, and the Trip Generation Manual
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Prefer software experience with MicroStation, ArcGIS, Synchro, and/or VISTRO
• Possess written and oral communication skills with English proficiency
• Valid Driver's License
• Preference is given to candidates who have passed their Professional Engineer (P.E.) Exam
