Job summary

Galloway & Company is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to support transportation and traffic projects through data analysis, simulation modeling, and technical report preparation. The position involves evaluating intersection operations, active transportation facilities, roadway design, parking evaluation, and multimodal transportation systems using tools like Synchro, VISSIM, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning.
• FE or EIT preferred.
• 0 to 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of traffic analysis and design software (HCS, CAD, Synchro, VISSIM preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct capacity and queueing analyses at stop-controlled intersections, signalized intersections, and roundabouts
• Prepare trip generation forecasts
• Assist with the written preparation of traffic impact studies, technical reports, and parking studies
• Review roadway geometrics and signal timings; evaluate roadway segment operations using macrosimulation and microsimulation
• Evaluate bicycle and pedestrian operations and safety
• Prepare parking demand analyses and parking assessments
• Travel to and from job sites, other offices, and meetings as required
• May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

About the Role

Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to land development projects and help shape safe, efficient transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct capacity and queueing analyses at stop-controlled intersections, signalized intersections, and roundabouts
• Prepare trip generation forecasts
• Assist with the written preparation of traffic impact studies, technical reports, and parking studies
• Review roadway geometrics and signal timingsEvaluate roadway segment operations using both macrosimulation and microsimulation software
• Evaluate bicycle and pedestrian operations and safety

• May act as technical resource for client
• Research local design standards for preparation of transportation studies
• Travel to and from job sites, other offices, and meetings, as required
• May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning
• F.E. or E.I.T preferred
• Typically, 0 to 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of traffic analysis and design software, (HCS, CAD, Synchro, VISSIM preferred);
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD

The estimated starting salary pay range for this role is $70,000-$80,000
