CJ HUGHES CONSTRUCTION is seeking a reliable Flagger / Traffic Control Technician to join our Flagging Department. This role helps ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles around construction sites by directing traffic, placing signs and cones, and coordinating with other flaggers.

The ideal candidate is safety-minded, comfortable outdoors in varying weather, holds a valid driver’s license, and is willing to travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Flagging or traffic control experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Direct traffic using hand signals, stop/slow paddles, and signage to safely manage flow through construction zones.
• Coordinate with other flaggers using two-way radios to manage alternating traffic patterns.
• Communicate with construction crews regarding traffic conditions that may impact job site safety.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices including signs, cones, barricades, and warning devices.
• Follow traffic control plans and supervisor instructions to ensure compliance and safety.
• Maintain strong awareness of surroundings, especially when working in the red zone around heavy equipment.
• Perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, and setting up traffic control equipment.
• Adapt to various job sites, schedules, and travel requirements.
• Work safely around moving traffic and active construction environments.
• Maintain productivity while always prioritizing safety.
