Job summary

AWP Safety, America’s Leading Traffic Management Company, is hiring Protectors to work at job sites with a team. No experience or degree is required; training and support are provided to build a career in traffic safety.

You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules learned in training. The role is outdoor, weather-dependent, and may require nights, weekends, or emergency shifts.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-hire screening including a drug test.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• You will be provided with a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, a safety whistle, a walkie talkie, and weather gear; bring your own steel toe boots.

Your Daily Work Includes

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
• Following all safety rules taught in training
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
• Working outside all year, in all weather
• Shifts may change based on job needs: Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required
• You may stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift
• We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Pay

• Pay: $16.25–$17.00 per hour
• Overtime available
• Pay increases in your first year
