Job summary

WWL-TV in New Orleans, a Tegna CBS affiliate, is seeking a traffic reporter who can also handle MSJ duties, including shooting and fill-in anchoring. The role focuses on presenting morning traffic clearly to viewers and building local knowledge to anticipate challenging stories.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of reporting/traffic/anchoring experience; prior traffic anchoring is a plus. The position involves reporting for the morning show, coordinating with the story desk, and covering events

WWL-TV , the Tegna CBS affiliate in New Orleans , is looking for a traffic reporter who can also handle MSJ duties that include shooting - and some fill-in anchoring. We are looking for an engaging personality who can present the traffic during the morning newscasts in an understandable manner for the viewer and who will gain the local knowledge to know which issues will bring more challenges than others.

Responsibilities:

• Weekday traffic anchor for the entirety of the morning show
• Reporting work, as needed
• Fill-in anchoring
• Making sure that impactful traffic situations are relayed to the story desk for push alerts and stories
• Making the morning show producers aware when traffic needs to play bigger due to breaking accidents
• Covering traffic, including evacuations and other vital information during hurricanes

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of reporting/traffic/anchoring
• Previous traffic anchoring a definite plus but will consider talented reporters who are at ease on air
• Previous anchor duties preferred
