A technology solutions firm in Maryland is seeking a System Engineer to document and validate new capabilities for software tools critical to national missions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, at least seven years of relevant experience, and a Top Secret security clearance. This role offers a competitive salary range of $137,000 to $181,000 and numerous employee benefits including ample PTO and multiple medical plan options.

As a System Engineer, you will play a critical role in documenting and validating new capabilities for the classification marking tools that safeguard mission data. You’ll work closely with software developers and customers to gather requirements, create system and test documentation, and ensure new releases meet operational needs across multiple secure environments. Your ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable documentation will help ensure these essential tools perform reliably and securely in support of national missions.
Location: Government or Contractor Facility, Ft. Meade, MD area
Schedule: 40 hours per week, normal day shift
Document full lifecycle software design, development, and testing processes
Develop and maintain system engineering and test documentation for policy-driven applications
Collaborate with developers to understand system architecture and functionality
Test new software releases and record detailed results for evaluation and reporting
Work directly with customers to identify, document, and resolve user-reported issues
Generate and maintain bug reports, release notes, and process documentation
Support requirements elicitation and validation activities with customers and stakeholders
Track and report progress through JIRA or similar systems, ensuring transparency and accountability
Coordinate and document system deliveries, test activities, and process milestones
Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active). We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related field
Minimum seven (7) years of Systems Engineering experience in programs of similar scope and complexity
Five (5) additional years of experience may substitute for a degree (12 years total)
Experience generating system engineering and test documentation
Strong technical writing and organizational skills
Ability to interpret technical concepts and produce detailed program and process documentation
Experience gathering and analyzing customer requirements
Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities
Proficiency with documenting test results and software validation
Experience analyzing system requirements, CONOPS, and architecture documents
Ability to track and respond to customer questions and issues
Experience establishing schedules and reporting status updates
Familiarity with coordinating test users, software deliveries, and issue resolution
Ability to provide meeting minutes, documentation, and deliverables for government review
Experience documenting critical communications and ensuring traceability
