Job summary

University of La Verne is seeking an experienced facilities professional to oversee all campus plumbing and gas line projects, repairs and preventative maintenance. The role includes writing SOWs for bids on large projects and managing contractors through payments and sign-off on completion documents.

The position requires seven years of plumbing repair or construction experience, with a preferred degree in maintenance/construction management or related field, or eight years of equivalent work

Job Description Summary

Oversee all commercial plumbing and gas line projects, repairs and preventative maintenance for entire campus. Write Scope of Work ( SOW ) details for bidding purposes on projects too large for the one in-house employ to complete. Oversee contractor and sign off on payments and completion documents. Determine long term plumbing maintenance needs for ULV . Provide reports and recommendations to the supervisor and Director of Facilities Management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Plumbing skills.
• Knowledge and ability to operate a gas fume sniffer.
• Must have seven years’ experience in plumbing repair or construction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman level plumbing skills.
• Possess a degree in a construction or management field e.g. Maintenance Administration, Construction Management, Construction Project Management, or related field of maintenance or construction.
• Or eight years of related work in place of a degree.
