You'll handle complex trademark and copyright disputes, advise on strategy, and collaborate across teams to support clients. A CA Bar admission and JD from a top law school are required.

Location: San Diego, CA (also considering Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Silicon Valley, CA) | Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid | Compensation: $200,000 – $310,000 annual base salary

Overview

A prominent national law firm is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney, with either a partnership-track or non-partnership-track option, to join its well-regarded Trademark, Copyright & Media Practice Group. This role offers the chance to represent high-profile clients in complex disputes and counseling matters, with significant client contact and a collaborative, flexible hybrid work environment.

What you'll do

• Represent clients in complex trademark and copyright litigation, including trial-level work and disputes
• Provide counseling on strategy, enforcement, risk management, and media law compliance
• Assist in investigating, prosecuting, and defending against advertising, marketing, and unfair competition claims
• Draft and argue motions, prepare discovery responses, and manage trial preparation
• Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to develop case strategies and ensure seamless representation

Required qualifications

• JD from a top-tier, nationally recognized law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
• 2+ years of substantive experience with trademark & copyright counseling and litigation, trademark clearance, prosecution strategy, and portfolio management
• Experience with trademark and copyright ownership, licensing, and fair use intellectual property provisions in commercial and corporate transactions
• Strong analytical and legal writing skills
• Demonstrated oral and written advocacy and communication skills; research and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
• Ability to manage multiple matters and client relationships in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Conceptual thinking, persuasive communication, and management skills
• Good business and professional judgment
• Submission of a cover letter, resume, and law school transcript is required for consideration

Preferred qualifications

• Applicable prior AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred

Compensation and benefits

• Annual base salary expected to range from $200,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors
