Job summary

Clear Street is seeking a Surveillance Associate to conduct daily trade surveillance reviews for active trader clients, focusing on detecting manipulation and abusive trading using Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (NTS). The role covers equities and listed options, with opportunity to grow responsibilities over time.

The position requires 3-5 years of hands-on NTS experience in a broker-dealer or exchange setting, strong analytical and documentation skills, and the ability to assess trading intent

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience using Nasdaq Trade Surveillance in a broker-dealer or exchange environment.
• Ability to identify and investigate market manipulation alerts such as spoofing, layering, momentum ignition and wash trading.
• Strong understanding of equities and listed options markets, including order types and routing.

Responsibilities

• Review order lifecycle data (entry, modification, cancellation, execution) to assess intent and impact.
• Analyze activity to identify manipulation and abusive practices (spoofing, layering, momentum ignition, wash trading).
• Perform cross-product surveillance across equities and listed options.
• Independently review and disposition NTS alerts through reconstruction and context review.
• Document findings clearly in surveillance case management systems.
• Escalate potential issues to senior staff with supporting analysis.
• Assist in preparing case summaries for monthly Trade Surveillance Committee meetings.
• Provide feedback on alert performance and recurring patterns observed in NTS.
• Identify surveillance caps or emerging risks with new products or order types.
