Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a U.S. Trade Compliance Specialist to support import/export programs across its U.S. operations.

You will help ensure compliance with EAR, U.S. Customs regs, OFAC, and other agency requirements while partnering with operations, supply chain, logistics, engineering, sales, and customer service to enable compliant international trade. This role requires 3–5 years of experience in U.S.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in U.S. trade compliance and import customs operations.
Experience with free trade agreements, tariff classification, and valuation principles.
Ability to manage projects in trade space (FTZ feasibility, landed cost, origin/tariff engineering).
Understanding of manufacturing operations across disciplines.
Experience managing self-assessments, entry data reviews, and entry correction procedures.
Knowledge of HTSUS, EAR, U.S. Customs and Trade regulations.
Ability to create financial analyses (spends, forecasts, trends).

Responsibilities

Support export and import compliance across multiple manufacturing locations.
Classify products, raw materials, technology, and data under HTSUS and EAR.
Review shipments for licensing, exemptions, and documentation.
Conduct restricted party screening and sanctions reviews.
Maintain HTS classifications, origin determinations, and customs records.
Collaborate with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
Support internal assessments, investigations, training, and continuous improvement.
Assist border consolidation and export operations as needed.
Monitor regulatory changes and communicate business impacts.
Other duties as assigned commensurate with responsibilities.

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented U.S. Trade Compliance Specialist to support the company's import and export compliance programs across its U.S. operations. This individual will help ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. trade regulations, including EAR, U.S. Customs regulations, OFAC sanctions programs, and other government agency requirements. The ideal candidate will partner closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, logistics, engineering, sales, and customer service teams to facilitate compliant international trade activities while supporting business objectives.

Requirements

Significant experience with free trade agreements, tariff classification, and valuation principles.
Ability to manage projects in the trade space, e.g., FTZ feasibility, strategic sourcing/ landed cost support, origin and tariff engineering.
General understanding of manufacturing operations with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
Demonstrated experience in managing self‑assessments, entry data reviews, and entry correction procedures.
Solid working knowledge of the HTSUS, EAR, and U.S. Customs and Trade regulations.
Ability to create financial analyses, including spends, forecasts, trends, and what‑if scenarios.

Solid knowledge of Mexico customs and trade operations.
Experience supporting IMMEX/maquila operations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Law, or related field, or equivalent experience in import/export operations.
