Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Trade Compliance professional based in Houston to lead day-to-day import/export compliance for US locations of Actuation Technologies. You will coordinate activities, classify HTSUS/ECCN, and serve as the site SME for regulatory matters.

You will develop policies, provide compliance training, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure lawful and efficient trade practices. Strong communication and SOP skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Business, technical field, law or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years related experience, including minimum of 3 years of import/export compliance accountability in industry or government position.
• Import: CFR 15 knowledge, understanding of USHTS classification, Customs and Border Protection forms and responses, Transportation In Bond, import entry packets, Importer Self Filing, PSAs, ADD/CVD, Broker communication, valuation, country of origin and marking, record keeping.
• Export: CFR 19 knowledge, understanding of ECCN classification, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, Electronic Export Information, Embargos, Sanctions, Boycott, Freight Forwarder / carrier communication, transaction and restricted party screening, record keeping.
• Ability to coordinate the implementation and adoption of all import/export/supply chain security policies in all facilities within scope.
• Ability to create, review and adhere to internal Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
