Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. seeks a seasoned Trade Compliance Program Manager to lead import, export, and FTZ compliance across the enterprise. You will partner with manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and sales to navigate complex trade rules and strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years in import/export compliance or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, export controls, HTS, Schedule B, ECCN.
• Experience with CBP, brokers, freight forwarders, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with trade systems and MS Excel; QuestaWeb and Syteline preferred.

Drive trade compliance across MEPPI. Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Program Manager to lead company-wide import, export, customs, CTPAT, tariff, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance programs. As MEPPI’s primary trade compliance subject matter expert, this role partners across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, purchasing, sales, and other business functions to navigate complex trade requirements, strengthen compliance controls, and support the efficient movement of products across international borders.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Trade Compliance Programs: Manage and continuously improve MEPPI’s company-wide import, export, CTPAT, tariff, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance programs across multiple business divisions.
• Drive Policies & Internal Controls: Develop, maintain, and enhance trade compliance policies, procedures, internal controls, tools, reporting processes, training materials, and program documentation.
• Navigate Regulatory Change: Monitor U.S. and international trade developments, assess potential business impacts, and coordinate updates to procedures, controls, systems, training, and compliance requirements.
• Manage Import Compliance: Oversee import compliance activities including customs documentation, valuation, country-of-origin determinations, HTS classification, duty and fee requirements, tariff applications, recordkeeping, and audit readiness.
• Lead Export Compliance: Manage export compliance processes and documentation including commercial invoices, export filings, Schedule B and ECCN classifications, end-use documentation, licensing assessments, classification requests, and other regulatory filings in coordination with Legal and external advisors as needed.
• Manage Restricted Party Screening: Administer and support denied party, sanctions, and restricted party screening processes for customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, agents, and other relevant third parties.
• Own CTPAT & Supply Chain Security: Manage MEPPI’s CTPAT program, including security profile updates, annual certifications, risk assessments, questionnaires, validation activities, corrective actions, and supporting records.
• Optimize Tariffs & FTZ Operations: Analyze tariff and duty exposure, identify mitigation opportunities, and coordinate Foreign Trade Zone activities including compliance, reporting, system requirements, operational support, and interaction with FTZ service providers and consultants.
• Partner with Customs & Trade Providers: Serve as a company contact with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, suppliers, factories, external consultants, MEUS/MELCO resources, and regulatory agencies to resolve trade compliance matters.
• Support Business Operations: Serve as the primary trade compliance SME for manufacturing, supply chain, warehouse, logistics, purchasing, and sales teams, providing guidance on requirements that impact production schedules, inventory flow, sourcing decisions, and international shipments.
• Strengthen Compliance & Audit Readiness: Conduct internal transaction reviews, support internal and external audits, summarize findings for management, and lead corrective actions, preventive actions, and process improvements.
• Build Trade Compliance Knowledge: Develop and deliver trade compliance training to strengthen awareness, accountability, and consistent application of import and export requirements across MEPPI.

What You’ll Bring

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Operations, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in import/export compliance, global trade, customs, international logistics, supply chain, or a related compliance function, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Trade Compliance Expertise: Strong working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, export controls, HTS classification, Schedule B, ECCN, tariffs, customs valuation, country of origin, CTPAT, FTZ operations, customs documentation, and trade recordkeeping requirements.
• Import & Export Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting import and export transactions, classifications, customs documentation, regulatory requirements, and compliance controls in a manufacturing or similarly complex business environment.
• Regulatory & Provider Experience: Experience working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, external consultants, suppliers, and cross-functional business teams.
• Systems Knowledge: Experience with trade compliance and FTZ systems, ERP platforms, ACE, ISF records, restricted-party screening tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel. Experience with QuestaWeb and Syteline preferred.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret complex trade requirements, assess business and financial impacts, identify compliance risks, and develop practical solutions.
• Project & Program Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple compliance initiatives, regulatory changes, audits, and process improvements across multiple business units.
• Communication & Training Skills: Strong written, verbal, presentation, and training skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance for business teams.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority and drive results through collaboration with internal divisions, Legal, external consultants, brokers, service providers, and global Mitsubishi resources.
