Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a dedicated Tractor Trailer Driver to operate designated tractor-trailer units over long distances, transporting freight between company facilities and customer sites. The role requires strong time management, communication, and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities include dropping, hooking, and interchanging equipment for loading/unloading, while adhering to FMCSA hours-of-service regulations and maintaining safety standards across varied terrain and weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Must follow FMCSA hours-of-service regulations.
• Minimum 4 years of over-the-road driving experience or graduation from company training program.
• Must pass driving test/competency on company equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations for long distances between facilities to pickup, transport, and deliver freight.
• Drop, hook, spot, or interchange equipment as needed for loading/unloading at various locations.
• Comply with USDOT/FMCSA rules, regulations and safe driving standards.
• Maintain logbooks and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections as required.

Job description

This employee operates designated tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods of time, over long distances between company facilities, terminals, or worksites to pickup, transport, and deliver freight in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. As part of this function, Tractor Trailer drivers drop, hook, spot, or otherwise interchange equipment for loading or unloading at various locations under varied conditions. Tractor Trailer Drivers are subject to the Hours of Service Regulations of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT).

Education/Experience:

• Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required
• Ability to be self-supervised and complete assigned task
• Position requires essential time management, communication, and organizational skills
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver\'s License with Semi-Trailer, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsement
• Must have knowledge of and comply with all FMCSA rules, regulations, governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance of equipment
• Must be able to operate any type and configuration of equipment assigned, including various types and combinations of owned, leased, or rented, single or tandem axle tractors or straight trucks of either conventional or cab over design
• Must have no felony conviction or misdemeanor drug conviction
• Must have a satisfactory work history record as determined by inquiry to previous employer
• Must be able to drive and/or work the maximum number of hours allowed under FMCSA\'s Hours of Service Regulations
• Must be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle as demonstrated by a current medical examiner\'s certificate
• Must pass a driving test or competency on company equipment in order to demonstrate driving skills and ability
• Must be capable of working independently without constant supervision
• Must meet all the qualification requirements of and is not disqualified under the USDOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Parts 383 and 391
• Must have a minimum of 4 years recent driving experience as an over the road driver, operating similar equipment over similar terrains and road conditions for long distances in various traffic and weather conditions, or has graduated from a Company acknowledged training program
• Must have a record of safe and competent driving (personal and commercial) as demonstrated on state Motor Vehicle Records
