The role requires troubleshooting skills and adherence to company specifications. It may involve outdoor work, night/weekend shifts, and full-time attendance. Applicants should have 1–2 years in tractor maintenance, basic tools, and English reading ability; A/C and FHWA/DOT inspection experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 18+ with 1–2 years in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or military equivalent.
• A/C certification and DOT/FHWA inspections experience preferred.
• Must supply basic tools; tool stipend programs may be available in some locations.
• Ability to work outdoors and across nights/weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on tractors and equipment.
• Follow shop safety procedures and complete work orders within standard repair times.
• Assist onboarding of technicians and participate in OE repair training.
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.

Job Summary

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description

$1,500 sign on bonus available for limited time.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
• May assist with the onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed. A/C Certification, At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes. Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through a toolbox purchase program.

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education,experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may beeligible forannual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of theCompany’s bonusand incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
