J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair of tractors and fleet equipment under routine supervision. Troubleshoot issues, complete maintenance processes, and ensure units meet J.B.

Hunt specifications at all times. This full-time role may require outdoor work, multiple shifts including nights/weekends, and overtime. It offers growth opportunities through the Technician Career Advancement program and company

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• A/C Certification
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections
• FHWA inspections, and air brakes.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level maintenance, service and repair of tractors and fleet equipment to meet J.B. Hunt specifications.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed.
• Onboard and mentor Tractor Technician trainees; participate in OE repairs training.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.

Job Summary

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
• May assist with the onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

Qualifications

18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.

A/C Certification

At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections

FHWA inspections, and air brakes.

Pay

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $27.04 - $40.56.

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
