J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Tractor Mechanic in Niles, OH to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair on tractors and equipment.

You will troubleshoot issues, follow fleet maintenance processes, and ensure units meet company specifications. This full-time role may involve outdoor work, various shifts, nights and weekends, plus overtime; a sign-on bonus may be available for a limited time.

Formación

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A/C Certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventative maintenance, replace parts, and handle more difficult tractor repairs per specs and SRT/warranty guidelines.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring Tractor Technician trainees.
• Participate in OE repairs training for tractors.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues and work independently or seek assistance as needed.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer specifications and complete work orders.

Job Summary

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance. Sign on bonus may be available for a limited time.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
• May assist with the onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
A/C Certification.
At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through a toolbox purchase program.

Eligibility and Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship. Must not have received a sign-on bonus from JBH in the last 12 months. Current employees are eligible for a sign-on bonus when accepting an eligible position that requires relocation of 50+ miles.

Compensation

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $25.20 - $37.80. Compensation: Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time. Sign on bonus may be available for a limited time.
