Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Tractor Operator at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, KS. You will operate wheel-mounted tractors and a broad range of ground-maintenance equipment to keep grounds safe and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include inspections, change and attachment handling, material transport, snow removal, irrigation work, and assisting with landscape upkeep. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Experience operating tractors and ground-maintenance equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance before/after use.
• Operate and maneuver ground maintenance attachments safely.

Responsibilities

• Operating wheel-mounted tractors and ground-maintenance equipment.
• Operating vehicle fleet and transporting materials between locations.
• Performing pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and recording logs.
• Assisting with snow removal, irrigation work, and landscaping tasks.
• Completing daily VA vehicle logs and ensuring cargo is secured.
