Job summary

Responsibilities

• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
• The ability to coordinate two or more limbs while operating equipment.
• The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.

OVERVIEW

Primary responsibility will be to operate tractors, implements, and other farm machinery; Operator will also sometimes perform general fieldwork related to our operations. Participation in trainings, workshops and staff meetings related to farm operations. Operate tractors and equipment safely and effectively .

• Walk besides or ride on planting machines while in the mechanical planters at specified intervals
• Adjust farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions
• Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, using bolts and hand tools
• Operate equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines and irrigation equipment
• Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunction
