Job summary

Sunland is seeking a Track Maintenance Laborer to maintain the racing surface and related equipment under NM Racing Commission standards. The role requires operating large trucks and heavy equipment, performing routine track work, and staying outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ideal candidates will have a CDL, strong manual labor skills, the ability to lift up to 50–90 pounds, and pass a background check for the NM Racing Commission license.

Qualifications

• Must have a Commercial Driver's License.
• Must be able to operate a 26K+lb truck.
• Must have knowledge and ability to do routine manual labor.
• Heavy machine operator.
• Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be tolerant to high-volume noise, dust/dirt, fumes/odors, hazardous materials, moving objects, and pressurized equipment.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check to obtain an NM Racing Commission License.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, climb, mount/dismount forklift, and lift up to 50-90 pounds on a regular basis.
• Minimum of 1 year labor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with NM Racing Commission standards as they apply to track surface maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance of the track and the racing surface including raking, shoveling, and leveling of the track surface itself.
• Preparation of the racing surface.
• Ensure the track is free of any debris or obstacles.
• Operate the track equipment safely and properly.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the Track immediately.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure smooth operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Status: Hourly

Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and the safety of the racing surface and associated equipment in accordance with the Company’s Operations Standards.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures compliance with NM Racing Commission standards as they apply to track surface maintenance.
