We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.Responsible for performing general labor as part of a team that is responsible for track projects including construction, maintenance, inspections, and service.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Driving spikes* Moving and setting cross ties and lengths of steel rail* Shoveling stone* Adjusting switches* Lubricating switches* Tightening track bolts* Checking track gauge* Checking cross level* Carrying track jack (approx. 40 lbs.)* Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)* Other duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.**REASONING ABILITY**Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
