Job summary

Willmar Public Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Track & Field Coach. This role oversees the development and success of student-athletes in track & field, planning and conducting practices, promoting teamwork and skill development, and ensuring participant safety.

The position offers a $4,877 stipend per season. Availability for practices, games, and related events—including evenings and weekends—is required. A pre-employment criminal background check is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coaching or playing the specific sport/activity.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, injury prevention, and first aid.
• Must have a thorough understanding of MSHSL and District policies and expectations.
• Availability to attend practices, games, and other team-related events, including evenings and weekends as required.

• Plan and conduct practice sessions to develop student-athletes.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all participants.
• Collaborate with staff, maintain communication with parents, and support academics.
