What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Track Engineering Manager to join our Transportation Team in Audubon, PA. This role follows a remote or hybrid work model depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

What You'll Be Challenged To Do

Seeking a Track Engineering Manager within our Transit and Freight Rail Sectors. The candidate will work with multi-discipline teams on wide-ranging transit and rail projects, assist in maintaining existing client relationships, and be an integral part of a project team committed to providing high-quality designs.

Responsibilities
  • Overall Track Project Management: scope development, contract negotiations, staff management, project delivery, quality, and safety.
  • Serve as lead Track Engineer on projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed within the allocated time and budget.
  • Provide team leadership and technical expertise.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the work of junior engineers and technicians serving as direct reports to the Track Manager.
  • Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
  • Assist with writing proposals and making presentations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies such as AREMA.
  • Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Perform independent reviews of major projects.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related) required.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in design of major transit/freight rail engineering transportation projects.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Experience working with transit agencies and/or Class 1 Railroads.
  • Ability to lead civil/track aspects on multiple assignments.
  • Experience preparing plans, specifications, estimates, construction phasing, and construction schedules.
  • Extensive working knowledge of OpenRail Designer and Civil3D platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various engineering and scheduling software.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $190,000–$230,000, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
