Job summary

Broad Run High School in Virginia is seeking an assistant athletic coach for the Spring season (February–May) to join the track program. The role requires collaboration with the head coach and athletic department to run a well-structured program and fulfill assigned duties.

The position involves recommending equipment, enforcing discipline, and fostering pride in the school and community among athletes, with additional duties as requested by school leadership.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience or participation in the sport at high school or college level.
• Completion of CPR and First Aid training or enrollment in current CPR/First Aid course.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for LCPS.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the head athletic coach to operate a structured program.
• Collaborate with the athletic department and attend staff meetings during the season.
• Carry out duties designated by the head athletic coach.
• Recommend equipment and supplies for the sports program.
• Recommend disciplinary actions for players violating rules and procedures.
• Foster sportsmanship, school pride, and community pride among athletes.
• Perform other duties related to assistant athletic coach as requested by the high school principal and/or athletic director.

• To recommend suggested disciplinary actions regarding players violating training rules and procedures.
• To foster among the athletes a desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, personal pride, and pride for their school and community.
• To perform other duties related to the position of assistant athletic coach as requested by the high school principal and/or athletic director.
