Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a TPR Compliance Officer to drive the ethics and compliance program in assigned markets. You will implement systems and policies ensuring federal program compliance and act as a resource to leadership teams and staff.

You will lead ethics and privacy program development, audit oversight, and reporting while collaborating with counsel and senior leaders to strengthen the organization’s compliance posture across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of progressive compliance experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of federal healthcare program requirements.
• Experience implementing and managing compliance programs remotely.
• Experience in hospital or health system environments.
• Developing corrective action plans and auditing activities.
• Strong data analysis, trend reporting, and dashboard use.

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance leadership in assigned region, advising on ethics and compliance.
• Collaborate with facility and regional leadership on privacy/security programs.
• Build credibility with stakeholders to support a culture of ethics and compliance.
• Serve as a liaison with facility leadership to address concerns about ethics and compliance.
• Assist with Compliance Committee and Board preparations as applicable.

• Assist in auditing, monitoring, and oversight of identified risks.
• Conduct regular site visits using standard tools for monitoring.
• Oversee corrective actions and monitoring in response to issues and audits.
• Implement monitoring systems to prevent compliance and privacy issues.
• Encourage reporting of suspected fraud without retaliation.
• Work with teams to resolve compliance issues across facilities.
• Execute Tenet/TPR hospital compliance work plan initiatives.

Job Summary

The TPR Compliance Officer has responsibility for managing the implementation of Tenet’s Ethics and Compliance Program in his or her assigned markets. The TPR’s Compliance Officer’s general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing Tenet’s systems, processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements and Tenet’s Quality, Compliance and Ethics Program Charter. The TPR Compliance Officer will serve as a compliance resource to market operational leadership teams and employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance leadership in assigned region on issues concerning ethics and compliance matters, including recommending controls designed to ensure compliance.
• Work collaboratively with facility and regional leadership within assigned territory to ensure ethics and compliance, privacy/security program development and implementation.
• Establish effective working relationships and build credibility with stakeholders to support a culture of ethics and compliance.
• Interface directly with leadership and employees at facilities within assigned territory to serve as a sounding board for their concerns about ethics and compliance matters.
• Assist with Compliance Committee and/or Board Committee preparations and meetings as applicable.
• Assist in the implementation of Tenet education and training program that focuses on the requirements of the Quality, Compliance and Ethics Charter, Tenet’s Ethics and Compliance program, and the privacy and security program to ensure that all employees, contractors, and physicians within the region are knowledgeable of Federal healthcare program requirements and the requirements of the Ethics and Compliance program as required to perform their respective roles.
• Coordinate with TPR counsel to facilitate communication between the Ethics and Compliance Department and Law Department on legal and compliance matters.
• Assist in auditing, monitoring and oversight of processes related to identified risks.
• Conduct regular site visits using standard tools as required.
• Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and monitoring in response to identified issues and audits.
• Implement approved monitoring systems and processes for ethics and compliance issues.
• Oversee implementation of approved procedures that encourage facility employees, leadership, contractors, and physicians to report suspected fraud or other improprieties without the fear of retaliation.
• Work collaboratively with team members and corporate personnel to resolve all compliance issues identified.
• Implement the Tenet /TPR hospital compliance work plan initiatives, and systems to prevent compliance and privacy/security issues from arising within assigned facilities.
• Act as a consultative resource on ethics and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Required Background:

• Three to five years of progressive compliance experience in hospital, surgical centers and/or clinical practices compliance, for a larger multi-faceted healthcare company
• Demonstrated knowledge in compliance process improvement and the requirements of federal healthcare programs requirements
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing compliance programs remotely for a larger number of facilities
• Demonstrated experience working within a hospital, health system, or other regulated healthcare environment.
• Experience in:
• Developing and implementing corrective action plans.
• Conducting or overseeing audits/monitoring activities.
• Compliance training development and delivering presentations.
• Compliance data analysis, trend reporting, dashboard utilization.
• Proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders – particularly senior leaders with indirect authority

Travel

Education And Certifications

• CHC certification required

Compensation

• Pay: $98,592 - $157,664 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
• Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-50% depending on role level.
• Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
