Job description

We are looking for a qualified Acquisition Specialist for a family-owned and operated dealership.

We are seeking a customer-oriented, high-energy, self-motivated individual. We offer competitive pay, an excellent working environment, and a great benefits package.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  1. Responsible for following up and scheduling appointments for customers to come in and appraise and purchase their used vehicles, including any necessary follow-up and coordination.
  2. Prospect and engage potential sellers through various channels including service drive, CRM leads, social media, phone calls, and walk-ins.
  3. Interface with current used vehicle owners from appointments set and dealership service drive with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.
  4. Appraise used vehicles by asking questions, taking pictures of the vehicles, and inputting vehicle data into our appraisal software.
  5. Work with Sales Managers to build and propose an offer to the seller.
  6. Introduce guests to sales department personnel to sell them a new vehicle after purchase of their existing vehicle.
  7. Review monthly goals with management on vehicles purchased to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  8. Purchase 10 or more vehicles per month.
  9. Conduct accurate vehicle assessments by collecting and recording all required information for customer appraisal.
  10. Identify potential purchases by researching current market trends and analyzing incoming inventory.
  11. Research the motor vehicle industry to monitor competition and analyze the demand for different models.
  12. Handle paperwork related to vehicle purchases and sales.
  13. Stay up to date with dealership policies and procedures.
  14. Ensure all acquisitions comply with company policies, processes, and meet all legal and regulatory standards.
  15. Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  16. Maintain a professional appearance including following the dealership dress code.
  17. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  18. Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment.

Requirements (included but not limited to):

  1. MUST have 2 or more years of Automotive Acquisition experience.
  2. Toyota experience is preferred but not required.
  3. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with confidence in your ability to be successful.

The Acquisition Specialist has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $17.50 and $18.00. The position may also pay commission compensation based on the value or amount of closed sales achieved from $0.00 (if no sales are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.
