Full Time Professional Irving, TX, US

You are already an expert in your field. You are a highly driven Toxicologist with 5+ years of experience working withalcohol, prescription/illicit drugs, and toxicants. You possess a deep understanding of drug, environmental, occupational, chemical, and/or biological exposures.

This role asks you to bring this same set of skills and knowledge to a different challenge: determining why an incident occurred. You will work alongside nationally respected experts on casework that is consequential to industry and society, and you will keep learning for the rest of your career.

Prior forensic experience is not required. We hire for deep industry knowledge. Robson Forensic will train you to apply your expertise in a forensic setting, based on our experience of nearly 40 years in providing expert witness services.

What you will do:

• Investigatecases involving toxicology.
• Analyzecomplex scenarios, applying your comprehensive knowledge of standards and practices.
• Writeclear, scientifically sound reports.
• Provideexpert testimony.

You will delve into the "why" behind incidents, critically assessing exposure, adverse effects, and causation.

What we require:

• Education: Ph.D. in toxicology with broad training and expertise in a relevant discipline (toxicology, chemistry, biology, microbiology, physiology, pathology, etc.).
• Membership:Member of an organization with a toxicology focus (ex. SOFT or SOT).
• Experience: 5+ years of experienceworking in the field of toxicology.
  • If your past work experience is in industry or government, several broad-based experiences are highly desirable including work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a government entity, military, and/or a forensic toxicology laboratory with emphasis on interpretation of scientific results.
  • If your past work experience is as an assistant, associate, or full professor in an academic institution,active involvement in a toxicology research program, evidence of competitive and renewable research funding, commensurate teaching and committee responsibilities.
• Other: A clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.

Experience that helps, though not required:

• Postdoctoral training & research in toxicology.
• Board certification in toxicology, such as ABFT or DABT.
• Interpretive, mechanistic-oriented human clinical research.
• Animal research.

Work Style:

Approximately 20% of the role is travel for training, inspections, and providing sworn testimony on your investigative findings at a deposition or trial. The remainder is investigation, analysis, and report writing, working independently and as part of a collaborative team. Our experts offer and receive support/mentoring in a firm with over 100 scientists, engineers, and other professionals and manage a portfolio of 50-70 projects/clients.
