Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Illinois with Missouri preferred.
• Minimum of one year defense litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Superior legal research and writing skills.
• Strong analytical ability and client service orientation.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution, including case assessment and strategy development.
• Take and defend depositions, including lead examination of plaintiffs and expert witnesses.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
• Review and analyze incoming discovery requests, and draft discovery requests and responses.
• Draft and argue pleadings and motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions.
• Prepare for and support trial, including exhibit and witness preparation, motions in limine, and trial briefs.
• Communicate regularly with clients on case status, strategy, and developments.
• Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the firm's offices to share strategy and best practices.
• Maintain accurate, timely time records.
