Job summary

Centerline Communications LLC is seeking a highly experienced Cell Tower Top Hand to oversee tower construction tasks in the Windsor/Hartford CT market. The role involves supervising crews across installation, testing, and maintenance of microwave and RF systems on towers, rooftops, and structures.

The candidate must have 5+ years in cellular construction, field certifications, and a willingness to travel. Strong safety record and ability to work outdoors in all weather are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cellular construction.
• Basic computer skills for equipment programming and site closeouts.
• Sweeps and PIM testing certifications required.
• Fiber testing certification required.
• Tower Climber and Rescuer Certification preferred with recertification by Centerline.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily activities for crew and assign tasks.
• Monitor crew activities and enforce safety policies.
• Install and maintain microwave equipment and related mounts.
• Install antennas, RRUs, TMA, and related equipment on towers and rooftops.
• Install and maintain coaxial and DC power/fiber lines.
• Install underground and in-building conduits for electrical/backhaul.
• Test new and existing equipment (sweep, PIM, fiber).
• Install ice bridges, cable trays, racks, and platforms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Cell Tower Top Hand in the Windsor /Hartford CT market will be responsible for the supervision and performance of various construction tasks in the areas of tower erection, coaxial cable and antenna installation, antenna mount installation, RF testing and troubleshooting. This position is for candidates with extensive experience in cellular construction.

What You Will Do:

• Planning daily activities for crew and assigning tasks as required.
• Monitoring crew activities and ensuring all safety policies are being followed.
• Installation and maintenance of microwave equipment.
• Installation and maintenance of mounts, platforms, antennas, RRU’s, TMA, and other related equipment on towers, rooftops, and other structures to expand and upgrade cellular networks.
• Installation and maintenance of coaxial and DC power/fiber optic transmission lines.
• Installation of underground and in building conduits for electrical and back haul circuits.
• Testing of new and existing equipment. May include sweep, PIM, or fiber testing.
• Installation of ice bridges, cable trays, equipment pads, racks, and platforms.

What You Will Need:

• Ability to manage a small crew and maintain a safe productive work environment.
• Excellent physical conditioning and stamina.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; including but not limited to snow, rain and varying temperatures.
• Observe all company procedures and safety rules.

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cellular construction
• Basic computer skills required for equipment programing and site closeouts
• Sweep & PIM testing certifications
• Fiber testing certification
• Competent Tower Climber and Rescuer Certification (does not need to be current, Centerline will re-certify, previous experience as an instructor is a bonus)
• First Aid & CPR (Centerline will re-certify if required)
• NWSa TTT1 & TTT2 certifications
• Be willing to travel
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.

• Able to climb to and work at heights exceeding 300’ feet.
• The employee needs to have good vision for close work, distance, color discrimination, peripheral, and depth perception.
