Travel-Based Wireless Construction Position

Elite ICT is hiring full-time Tower Technicians/Tower Climbers to support wireless construction projects across the country. We are seeking dependable, safety-focused individuals with telecommunications, tower, construction, or related field experience who are comfortable working in demanding outdoor environments and traveling for extended periods.

This position is best suited for candidates who are experienced in physically demanding field work, comfortable working at heights, and capable of working efficiently within a crew environment.

All new hires complete a company onboarding and safety training program, including required certifications needed for tower climbing.

Tower Technician – Microwave Communications

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Tower Technician with microwave communications experience to join our telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wireless communication systems, including microwave backhaul equipment, antennas, coaxial and fiber systems, and associated infrastructure. This position requires frequent tower climbing, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, align, test, and commission microwave radio systems and related telecommunications equipment.
Perform tower climbing activities to install, inspect, maintain, and repair antennas, mounts, transmission lines, and microwave dishes.
Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on wireless communication networks.
Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, RF path profiles, and equipment specifications.
Install and test fiber optic, coaxial, grounding, and DC power systems.
Perform microwave path alignment using test equipment and manufacturer specifications.
Complete site audits, inspections, and maintenance reports accurately and on time.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, customer requirements, and industry safety standards.
Operate hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and climbing gear safely and effectively.
Assist with site construction, equipment upgrades, and network expansion projects.
Travel to various job sites as required.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of telecommunications tower experience.
Proven experience installing and maintaining microwave communication systems.
Ability to climb telecommunications towers up to 500 feet or more and work at heights in varying weather conditions.
Knowledge of RF principles, microwave backhaul systems, and wireless network infrastructure.
Experience with antenna and microwave dish alignment.
Ability to troubleshoot communication equipment and network connectivity issues.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
ComTrain, NWSA TTT-1/TTT-2, or equivalent tower certifications.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Experience with Ericsson, Nokia, Ceragon, Aviat, DragonWave, or similar microwave platforms.
Fiber optic testing and splicing experience.
Experience working on cellular carrier networks (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, etc.).

Physical Requirements

Ability to climb towers, ladders, and elevated structures daily.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
