Job summary

Future Technologies Venture, LLC is seeking a Field Services professional for on-site work in Midland, TX. The role focuses on climbing, installing and upgrading cellular equipment on towers and structures, with emphasis on safety and quality control.

You will be coordinating with team members, performing repairs, and supporting network expansion efforts across carrier networks. Travel up to 50% is expected, with potential for higher; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of climbing/tower construction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual, reliable and able to work with others.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time (75% possible).

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and upgrades at elevated heights with safety and quality.
• Install equipment mounted on towers, rooftops and similar structures.
• Observe and report defects or hazards per procedures and MOPs.
• Upgrade carrier networks and perform civil work as needed.
• Swap radios/antennas and upgrade cabling from coax to fiber; act as rescue climber when required.

About the role

As a member of our Field Servicer Operation, your teammates will rely on you to work safely, efficiently and make the goals of the team your top priority. It’s a role with a lot of variety, but very fulfilling. On a day‑to‑day basis, you’ll be performing various tasks such as:

• Working safely and within established quality guidelines, without deviation. Completing repairs and upgrades at elevated heights.
• Installing impacted equipment that’s mounted on various structures such as Guyed Towers, Lattice Towers, Monopole Towers, Water Towers, Stealth Towers and Rooftops
• Observing and reporting possible compound/equipment defects or hazards; following instructions and complete assigned course of action in accordance with scope of work and methods of procedures (MOPs) and track work via checklists
• Expanding and upgrading established major cellular carrier networks; civil work will consist of upgrading and expanding existing cellular networks / sites
• Swapping cellular radios and antennas, making legacy cable plant upgrades from coaxial cable to fiber, site upgrades and capacity expansion; serve as a rescue climber when needed

Minimum Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about being a member of a team. You’ll want to make an impact from day one.

• Up to 2-year climbing and tower construction experience, preferably, cellular/microwave installation/Line and Antenna construction or other wireless related project experience
• Punctual, reliable and can retain newly learned information, and work well with others
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to travel outside home market up to 50% of the time; however, based on business requirements this duration could be extended beyond 75%
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to exercise flexibility in challenging and/or perplexing situations; multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environment
• Understanding of basic mechanical terms and tools
• Ability to learn and retain physical and mechanical installation specifications

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in remote and challenging locations including, but not limited to: rooftops, confined spaces, and all types of geographic locations
• Ability to clearly identify specific color schemes
• Ability to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors
• The ability to use hand tools, power tools and industry test equipment
• Standing, Walking and Climbing for extended periods of time
• Repetitive Movements for extended periods of time
• Push / Pull materials and equipment for extended periods of time
• Lift / Carry materials that are an average weight of (35) pounds, up to (70) pounds (6) to (8) Hours Daily
• Ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with an average of 50 lb. load and to work at altitudes of 300+ feet
• Readiness to perform these duties in all weather conditions / climates including heat, cold, rain etc.
• Meet certain weight requirements post-offer, pre-employment and during employment to comply with OSHA regulations and equipment manufacturers safety standards for working at elevated heights; maximum weight to be qualified to climb upon hire is 240 pounds.
• Waist circumference must not exceed 60 inches measured at the navel as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.
