Job summary

SBA Communications in Illinois is seeking a Tower Technician to perform construction and installation activities on wireless towers. You will assemble and erect towers, install antennas and coax, ground systems, and test communications links under the supervision of a Superintendent and Tower Crew Lead.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and at least 1 year of tower climbing experience, with the ability to read blueprints and operate RF test gear.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED preferred; 1+ year tower climbing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, details and specifications.
• Knowledge of standard knots and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and erect towers, install antennas, mounting hardware, coax, grounding and test systems.
• Read plans, site plans and tower drawings; verify progress and communicate deviations.
• Identify materials and resources; manage punch list before customer inspection.
