Job summary

SourceLine is seeking a Crane Hoist Technician to perform maintenance, service, and troubleshooting on cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment in outdoor, field-based environments across the Southeast U.S. The role requires travel, overtime, and the ability to work at heights.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, knowledge of crane theory and hoist mechanics, and proficiency with hand tools and mechanical equipment. A safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in complex maintenance, service, repair, and troubleshooting of cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on crane and hoist systems.
• Support erection and dismantle activities alongside rigging teams and ensure quality during these activities.
• Adjust and repair components such as bearings, brakes, cables, counterweights, and safety controls.
• Maintain safety and organization of tools, areas, and processes.

Job description

About the role:

• Assist in the performance of complex maintenance, service, repair, and troubleshooting of cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on crane and hoist systems
• Apply working knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance
• Support crane and hoist erection and dismantle activities alongside rigging teams
• Ensure quality standards during erection and dismantle activities
• Adjust, repair, or replace bearings, brakes, cables, guide rails, counterweights, cable sheaves, and buffers
• Adjust safety controls, counterweights, and mechanical systems as required
• Maintain accountability for safety within the installation and service team
• Maintain proper cleaning, organization, and placement of tools and work areas

Education, Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of tower crane and hoist mechanical theory and lifting techniques
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset

Working Conditions

• Work performed outdoors and in inclement weather
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 200 feet on cranes and hoists
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, tower sections, and crane structures
• Overtime, on-call and weekend work required
• Extensive travel, primarily throughout the southeastern United States
• Must be able to travel on short notice throughout SE USA
• Heavy travel, field-based role supporting multiple job sites across Florida and Georgia.
• Overnight travel required
