Job summary

DanceOne is seeking a Production Director to lead multiple touring events, mentor Production Managers, and ensure flawless execution from planning through show close. This leadership role thrives in fast-paced live event environments and requires guiding high-performing teams.

The role emphasizes on-site leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong track record of delivering large-scale productions across national tours and summer events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading live event productions.
• Strong understanding of live event production operations.
• Expert-level knowledge in at least one: Lighting, Audio, Video, Staging, or Rigging.
• Working knowledge of remaining production disciplines.
• Experience managing production crews and technical staff.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Comfortable with production software, scheduling systems, and administrative databases.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Lead production operations for 2-3 national touring events and multiple summer productions.
• Mentor Production Managers with coaching, direction, and operational support.
• Ensure all lighting, audio, video, staging, and rigging elements meet high standards.
• Partner with Operations, Logistics, Warehouse, Creative, and Event Directors for seamless execution.
• Develop production schedules, staffing plans, equipment allocations, and event logistics.
• Monitor budgets, labor, travel, vendor coordination, and production expenses.
• Review production reports and admin systems related to travel, payroll, crew scheduling, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot production issues quickly with a calm leadership approach.
• Ensure safety standards and industry best practices are followed.
• Serve as primary on-site production leader for assigned events.
