Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon specialized in Total Joint Arthroplasty to join a busy, established practice in Altoona, PA. The position offers a generous salary with wRVU incentive bonuses and a favorable practice and trauma call schedule.

The team includes multiple subspecialists and nine PAs, with opportunities for clinical academic appointment and serving as team physician for a local Division 1 university.

Responsibilities

• Join an established busy joint practice with a wait list greater than 6 months.
• Current orthopaedic surgeons include a trauma/fracture surgeon, a foot and ankle surgeon, a sports medicine surgeon, a hand and upper extremity surgeon, a total joints specialist and a podiatrist.
• Clinical Academic appointment
• Team physicians for local Division 1 University
• In-office imaging and PACS/EMR system
• Newly constructed 90,000 sq ft medical office complex

Step into a fully established practice with high volume patient base. The practice cares for patients referred from 70+ primary care physicians and the Hospital's emergency and trauma departments. Must have an MD or equivalent, be BC/BE in Orthopedic Surgery with the ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license.
