Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is hiring a Tortilleria Clerk - 043 Houston-Braeswood to join our Store Operations Team. Under direct supervision, you will assist customers, restock and rotate tortilla displays, and help prepare masa and tortillas as needed.

We value bilingual communication in Spanish and English, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. This role requires basic PC/Outlook skills and a willingness to work in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish and English preferred; ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Read labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Lift and move up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Food Handler Card or equivalent certification required for food-related positions.

Responsibilities

• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Tortilleria Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean, fill and rotate tortilla displays, as well as assist making a variety of different tortillas and masa for the department.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
