Job description

Job Duties

1. Setting up the cutting area for Hot Work Policy, Emergency Action Plan, and efficient cutting production
2. Setup Oxy-fuel station position, regulator adjustments, hose safety and torch condition
3. Change out compressed gas cylinders when required
4. Wear the required PPE
5. Maintenance and housekeeping of the entire torch cutting area
6. Inspect the safety of the equipment
7. Use common cutting techniques that conserve torch parts and maximize production
8. Clean up work area at the end of shift
9. Keep work areas neat and orderly
10. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
11. Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
12. Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
13. Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
14. Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members

Qualifications

1. Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
2. Must pass a medical physical and drug test
3. Must pass a background check
4. Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
5. Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
6. Ability to communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
7. Previous torch cutting related experience preferred
