Job summary

Cardinal Technology Systems, Corp. is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join our government IT solutions team in the United States. You will design and deploy reports and dashboards, support dimensional modeling, and craft SQL queries across Oracle and Databricks.

Required clearance, a CS-related degree, and 1–5 years in SQL and BI tools. Collaboration with data engineers and business analysts will shape cloud-based reporting using AWS services.

Qualifications

• Must possess DoD Top Secret, DHS EOD, CBP Full BI, or IT-I security clearance or SSBI.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field.
• 1–3 (max 5) years of hands-on SQL programming.
• 1–3 (max 5) years with at least one major BI platform (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Experience with data analysis and interpreting results.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and star/snowflake schemas.
• Self-motivation and willingness to learn in a distributed team environment.
• Occasional movement within the office to access files and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and deployment of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., SAP Business Objects).
• Collaborate with data engineering to support dimensional models (fact and dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas).
• Write and maintain SQL queries in Oracle and Databricks to extract data for reporting.
• Gather requirements with business analysts and translate needs into technical specs for reporting solutions.
• Monitor and improve performance of reports and underlying queries for reliability and usability.
• Gain exposure to AWS services (S3, EMR, Redshift, Glue) for cloud-based reporting.
• Manage reporting assets: documentation, version control, scheduled refreshes, maintenance.
