Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is recruiting physicians to staff four Freestanding Emergency Departments. This independent, physician-owned group offers full-time and part-time opportunities with competitive compensation, paid malpractice with tail, and a negotiable sign-on bonus.

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family/Internal Medicine with EM experience is encouraged. Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.

• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Eligible for Texas medical license

Our independent, physician-led emergency medicine group is actively recruiting dedicated physicians to staff four Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs) affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas. Available Sites - Amarillo Freestanding Emergency Departments

Our group staffs four modern Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs) across Amarillo, offering a variety of practice settings, volumes, and shift structures.

• Northwest Emergency on Georgia: 9-bed ED | ~30,000 annual visits | 24-hour physician + 12-hour APP coverage | 4% admission rate | Ambulance receiving with on-site CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
• Northwest Emergency at Town Square: 12-bed ED | ~20,000 annual visits | 24-hour physician + APP support (five days/week) | 4% admission rate | Full imaging and lab services.
• Northwest Emergency at Tascosa: New facility opened February 2025 | Full-service FSED with on-site imaging and lab | Flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts.
• Northwest Emergency at Eastern: Opening May 2025 | Comprehensive emergency care with imaging and lab | Flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts.
