Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced aircraft painter to prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply color coats in a shop environment. You will ensure proper safety practices and work closely with teammates to meet production timelines.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of aircraft painting experience, can handle paints per TS and shop docs, and is comfortable wearing PPE throughout the spray painting process in a controlled facility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 5 years of aircraft painting experience.
  • Must be able to wear PPE and operate paint guns.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect details and evaluate painting work required for each part.
  • Establish the correct paint per shop paperwork and apply as directed.
  • Mix paints as specified by directions or Technical Data Sheets.
  • Prepare surfaces with minor sanding before painting.
  • Coat aluminum surfaces with epoxy, lacquer, or resin before final color coat.
  • Manage time to complete all tasks within the given timeframe.
  • Work in a team and coordinate with fellow workers.
  • Paint effectively on various surfaces and metals.
  • Observe safety regulations and wear PPE during spray painting.

  • Effectively establish the correct paint for the application as flowed down by shop paperwork.
  • Mix paints as specified by supplied directions or Technical Data Sheets.
  • Prepare and perform minor sanding to detail surface before applying paint.
  • Coat aluminum surfaces with the prescribed epoxy, lacquer, resin or other material before applying the final color coat.
  • Able to effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
  • Work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
  • Able to paint effectively on different surfaces and metals.
  • Observe safety regulations and wear protective masks and clothing during spray painting operations.
  • Change out of booth filter chromate and solvent contaminated paint booth filters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
