Position: TOOLMAKER - EYELET Second Shift

Location: Naugatuck, CT

Department: Production

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Job Summary:

Plan and lay out work, perform complex bench and machine operations to construct, fit, and assemble highly complicated eyelet tools, dies, and gauges, requiring extensive experience and high skill level.

Duties:

  • Work from product prints, sketches, or samples to lay out tooling or construct tools without a design.
  • Determine operations at each station, sequence of operations, metal flow in dies, and allowances to produce parts within required tolerances.
  • Maintain production and quality standards, assist with job training as needed.
  • Troubleshoot jobs and make necessary adjustments to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Construct tools within estimated costs for eyelet machines and transfer presses, performing operations such as blanking, cupping, drawing, piercing, clipping, lettering, forming, collapsing, swelling, coning, flaring, knurling, threading, beading, skiving, nibbing, and making gauges for quality checks.
  • Receive layouts or create general layouts from detailed instructions, assist in constructing complex tools, make tool tryouts, and set up machines under supervision.
  • Plan and execute machine operations involving close tolerances and fits, using recognized methods and judgment.
  • Follow all safety policies, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
