Randstad USA seeks a skilled Toolmaker to fabricate, maintain, and troubleshoot precision stamping tooling on the active production floor in Providence, RI. You will read blueprints, program and operate wire EDM, and own tooling from build to press-side troubleshooting.

3+ years toolmaking and wire EDM experience required; no degree needed. First shift, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a salary range of $62,400–$83,200 per year and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years toolmaking experience in high-volume stamping.
• 3+ years wire EDM programming and operation.
• Strong blueprint reading and precision tight-tolerance work.
• Solid shop math including geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience with heat treating tool steels.

Responsibilities

• Construct progressive and single-hit dies from drawings.
• Program, set up, and operate wire EDM for die inserts.
• Use mills, lathes, and grinders for tooling as needed.
• Diagnose die issues on press and perform tool repairs.
• Support tooling for new product launches with production leadership.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to fabricate, maintain, and troubleshoot precision stamping tooling for an active production floor. In this hands-on role, you will work from blueprints, program and operate wire EDM equipment, and take complete ownership of tooling from initial build through press-side troubleshooting.

salary: $62,400 - $83,200 per year

work hours: 6 AM - 2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Construct progressive and single-hit dies using engineering drawings and samples.
• Program, set up, and operate wire EDM machinery for detailed die inserts and components.
• Utilize standard toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, surface grinders) as required.
• Diagnose die issues directly on the press and perform needed toolroom repairs.
• Partner with production leadership to support tooling for new product launches.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of toolmaking experience in a high-volume stamping setting.
• 3+ years of hands-on wire EDM programming and operation.
• strong blueprint reading abilities and precision tight-tolerance work.
• Solid shop math capabilities (geometry and trigonometry).
• Experience with heat treating tool steels.

Preferred Experience

• Completed formal Toolmaker Apprenticeship.
• CAD/CAM background.
• Experience with small, high-precision stamped components.
