Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience as a Toolmaker
• GED or High School Diploma
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, machining and assembly
• Tooling experience in metal stamping and forming
• Positive attitude and team orientation
• Able to perform in a manufacturing environment with standing, lifting and walking
• Ability to wear PPE
• Apprenticeship or trade school with tool making background is a plus
• Equivalent education/experience considered

Overview

An established manufacturer in the metal stamping and forming industry is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to fabricate and maintain tools, dies, fixtures, and jigs. This role is essential to keeping production tooling precise and running smoothly across manual and CNC machining operations.

What you'll do

• Determine and perform the sequence of operations required to fabricate tools, dies, fixtures, and jigs
• Operate manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines
• Produce tooling items by milling, turning, and grinding to tight tolerances using both CNC and manual machines
• Maintain production tooling
• Build new cutting and forming tools
• Build assemblies for multi-slide and Four Slide production systems

Required qualifications

• 3-8 year recent experience as a Toolmaker
• GED or High School Diploma required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Good understanding and knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, machining, and assembly procedures
• Tooling experience in the metal stamping and forming industry
• Positive attitude and a team player
• Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment, including frequent standing, lifting, and walking
• Ability to wear PPE

Preferred qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school with a tool making apprenticeship would be a plus
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
