Job summary

Gerresheimer in the United States is seeking an experienced Injection Mold Technician to repair and maintain tooling for our high-precision plastic molding operations. You will disassemble, inspect, and rework molds, document changes on drawings, and ensure tooling meets production standards.

The role requires 2+ years of mold repair experience, a 3-year technical qualification, and ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

  • Completed 3-year technical vocational training (e.g., as a tool mechanic) or a comparable qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in the repair and maintenance of injection molds.
  • Proficient in the disassembly, assembly, and reworking of injection molds and tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of tool repair processes, including spotting, measuring, and other precision work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and implement dimensional changes accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with common machining processes such as milling, grinding, and eroding.
  • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
  • Skilled in diagnosing tool wear, replacing defective parts, and performing detailed inspections.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing repairs efficiently to support production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular tool inspections in line with maintenance schedules, diagnosing issues as needed and replacing wear parts and materials.
