Job summary

RESRG is seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to support automotive manufacturing by maintaining, repairing, and improving production tooling and equipment. The role requires reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and collaborating with maintenance, quality, and engineering to minimize downtime and uphold safety standards.

The position is on-site in Tennessee. Experience with molds, dies, and fixtures is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of tooling or automotive manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Preferred technical degree or certification in Tool & Die/Iindustrial Maintenance/Machining.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds, dies, fixtures, jigs, and production tooling.
• Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Assist with tool changeovers, setup verification, and startup activities.
• Inspect tooling components for wear, damage, and performance issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tooling specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Perform machining, grinding, polishing, welding, and fabrication tasks as required.
• Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Recommend tooling improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
