Job summary

Specialized Recruiting Group Champaign is seeking a Tooling Technician to join the Marseilles IL team. The role is full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday, 7:00-4:30, with travel throughout the year to service Power Plants, Oil & Gas, Pipelines and Processing facilities.

You will install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer sites, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and delivering exceptional client support while protecting product integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field service or technical support experience.
• Prefer experience in industrial process plants.
• High school diploma; technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

A specialty machining and welding company that has been in business for over 40 years wants to add a Tooling Technician to their Marseilles IL team, which services Power Plants, Oil and Gas, Pipelines and Processing plants. This role is full-time onsite M-F, 7:00-4:30 with travel throughout the year.

The Field Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems at customer sites. This role ensures compliance with quality standards in accordance with ISO 9001, providing exceptional service and support to clients while maintaining the integrity of products and systems.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in field service or technical support, preferably in industrial process plants.

Skills

• Strong mechanical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Salary-higher field rate when traveling

Heavy travel months are March/April and Oct/November with roughly 50-75% of the month on the road with clients
