Job summary

Randstad USA is hiring Tooling Technicians in Hanover Park, IL to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plastic injection molds used in high-volume production.

The role requires hands-on tooling experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team. Direct hire with full benefits and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3 years experience repairing plastic injection molds
• Skilled in using manual mold shop equipment and tools
• strong troubleshooting and mechanical abilities
• Detail-oriented with strong problem‑solving skills
• Must work well within a team and communicate effectively
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of plastic injection molds
• Use manual machines and tooling equipment to perform corrective actions
• Diagnose tooling issues, test molds, and track root causes
• Maintain and track mold/component inventory levels and status
• Store validated and non‑validated tooling components appropriately
• Document mold issues, repair solutions, and PM history to reduce downtime
• Escalate recurring tooling failures through the proper channels
• Follow all SOPs, safety standards, and quality procedures
• Keep mold shop and machines clean and organized
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling readiness
• Other duties as assigned

Tooling Technician – Plastic Injection Mold Repair & Maintenance (Maintain, repair, and return-to-operation injection molds in a fast-paced production environment.)

Location: Hanover Park, IL | Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday–Friday | Pay: $30–$38/hr DOE.

Salary: $62,000 - $82,000 per year | Shift: First | Work Hour: 6 AM - 2:30 PM | Education: High School.
